Naw, I only heard it. Saw stills.

I didn't move to NYC until September of 1979. But the Circle production of Tartuffe was on a trip up (from DC, where I grew up, lived until my late 20s), because my friend Roy Brocksmith* was in the cast. If I saw another Moliere with AEA company, I can't recall. I might've at Arena but I'm blanking.

I've never seen the DVD of the Circle production. That I recall.

*Roy developed Bell's Palsy, and performed with it, working the facial distortion into his performance, heroically. It's a remarkable theater story which I wish could be told. Because it was so hard to go on -- one of his eyes wouldn't fully close, and his mouth was askew -- and though his part was small, it took everything he had in him to do it 8 times a week. It's a reason this production is so special to me.
