Yet people like Judi Dench, Jason Robards and Len Cariou never did (at least not until they had no choice). Judi Dench spoke of preferring to not even read the script before the first rehearsal if it was a play that she didn't know, and then often leaving her script at the rehearsal room when she went home so that she wouldn't be tempted to study it at home.
