| "La Perichole" was done at the Met in the 1950s with Patrice Munsel, but it's not done too often; I've never had a chance to see it. Here's a concert performance of one of its arias I remember sung rather gorgeously by Frederica von Stade. Given her wonderful, singular warmth of voice, excellent French and charm, don't blame the performer at Ohio Light if she doesn't reach this standard; yes, I'm a big Flicka fan! |
