| so disappointed! wanted to love it (like last time)! No chemistry between them; whole production flat; and so preachy; don't remember it being that wordy last time; think the rewrites totally weakened the play; and Song not so beautiful and looked masculine to me right from the start; and Owen seemed totally uncomfortable with the whole thing. Kept comparing him to Lithgow (who I thought was magnificent). Expected more from Taymor - best parts were the Peiking Opera and other Mao dances. anyone seen it yet? not optimistic it will gel in time for opening next week. |
