Soul Doctor The Musical
to Launch World Tour!
Soul Doctor, the Broadway musical, based on the life and music of legendary musician, Shlomo Carlebach is preparing for a world tour.
The show has been on a journey that has taken it from South Florida, New Orleans, Montreal, Off Broadway and finally to the Broadway stage.
Soul Doctor is an exhilarating musical journey through the triumphs and challenges of the Rock-Star-Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach and his unlikely friendship with the legendary Nina Simone. A modern-day troubadour, Shlomo ignited the spirit of millions around the world with his soul-stirring melodies. Broadway veteran, Gabriel Barre will be directing this new incarnation of the show.
The show’s book writer, Daniel Wise, speaks about the new creative vision for the show. “This production is unlike any other incarnation of the show. Our Director has reshaped and reimagined the show as a theatrical gathering rather than a standard book musical. This production will draw people together through Carlebach’s music much the way Shlomo did for so many years.
Lead producer, Dr. Jeremy Chess will be at the helm of the tour. His passion for his heritage has guided the show from its inception and now to the world’s greatest performing arts venues.
“I have received innumerable inquiries about Soul Doctor,” says Chess. “I am very happy that the musical is launching a world tour with a compelling presentation of the wisdom and music of Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach. Soul Doctor is currently booking dates for 2018 throughout North America, Israel, England and South Africa. |
