One of the nice things about being a member of TDF is that it has forced me to sit in a lot of seats that I would not have chosen myself, and in the process I have discovered that there are very few seats that I actually dislike. The Broadway houses are small enough (compared to, say, the Metropolitan Opera) that you can have a fine time in most of the theater.

So for the big shows, I have just decided that I am only willing to pay so much, and if I do not have the best seats that is okay. And, the thing is, it usually is. I purchased what I thought might be horrible side balcony seats for Hello Dolly (at about $100 each), and it was incredible. I am doing mid side mezzanine for the Band's Visit tonight.

And if there are really no reasonable options... then I don't go. There is plenty of theater to be seen. I had been hoping to see Harry Potter, but if I don't, then I will see something else.
