| This happens all the time because many theatre-goers are not aware of rush tickets, discount coupons on Playbill and Broadway Box, and the like. Last March I was in line at the box office for a certain play that was not doing very well based on its weekly gross. The lady in front of me asked the guy behind the window for a front orchestra ticket -- she paid something like $150. After she left, I asked the same guy for a $35 rush ticket. When I took my seat for the show, that same lady was sitting next to me. I immediately stuck my ticket in my pocket so she wouldn't inadvertently see what I had paid. |
