I saw "Hamilton" in its first three months (wise), but waited 6+ years on "Book of Mormon" (maybe a mistake).
It's not only subjective, it's also about a gut feeling about a show. Sometimes, we want to be among the first, because we know we'll tire of hearing spoilers, staging secrets, and paeans and pans. Yes, some of us can be that shallow (Show of hands? My hand is raised, high). Sometimes, we finally get around to the shows because a family members insists, or the seats gets cheaper. I can go crazy to be the first, or have "meh" itis. For "Potter," I am wildly indifferent. But then, I didn't much like any of the films. I found them exhausting, and each one a half hour too long. I'm not the target audience for this play. |
