| I always wondered if Merman sold out consistently. I was under the impression that she was initially SRO. But she extended and so it makes sense. Few people hadn't seen "Dolly" by that late date, with all of the tours. It was Merman's return that was the draw, after swearing off B'way for good. I've wondered how Diller pulled in her three months. If Merman hadn't been secured to follow, would Diller have closed Dolly, Alan? |
