| No. The actresses playing the leads in WICKED, mostly unknowns, have standbys. For the most part, in musicals, the original response is true. The lead will have a standby who is not in the show. There will be many understudies (even for the lead) who are also in the show. And the swings cover them. But it depends on the show. |
