| I agree with everything you say. Both ladies were great and I love both of them. Merman also had a considerable film career that lasted for decades. However, Martin's TV career in the 50's and 60's (3 separate productions of Peter Pan, Annie Get Your Gun, various variety specials) endeared her to millions of fans (including me). Martin's biggest hits always seemed to run longer than Merman's (with the exception of Annie Get Your Gun). Martin won 4 Tonys to Merman's one. It bears repeating: Great ladies! Love them both! |
