I saw the final Chicago performance this afternoon. I was in the mezzanine, and from what I could see, thought Eddie and Catherine’s relationship was odd from the fro go. I think it was really happening and not his fantasy-?? Seems like the wife knew as well.
I do wonder if Eddie’s issues in the bedroom were due to the fact he a) only lusted for Catherine b) was also struggling with homosexuality c) maybe a bit of both.
I wasn’t familiar at all with this play and found it thought provoking and the performances were excellent.
