| I don't think it's necessarily troubled and therefore avoiding critics (and the review seems to support it is not troubled). It's an odd situation on tour because shows go from city to city. If it were in New York (or sitting one place longer on the road) it would have several weeks of previews before anyone dreamed of reviewing it. Seems like they tried to take a week in Baltimore and part of a two week play in Detroit to have some previews before facing the critics. Perhaps a bit unorthodox, but not so odd for the show to try to achieve. |
