Interesting read about the Tessitura Network which, I assume, is the ticketing platform...

Tessitura was originally developed by and for the Metropolitan Opera of New York.

One of the most interesting aspects of the Tessitura system, which distinguishes it from most other commercial software, is the business model chosen by the Metropolitan Opera in order to commercialize what was originally custom software. The Metropolitan Opera maintains ownership of the intellectual property in the original software, but established a separate organization called Tessitura Network (as a not-for-profit corporation with 501(c)3 status under United States tax law) to manage the ongoing development and support of the system. The Tessitura Network now licenses users, handles management, maintenance and development of the system, and fosters an active exchange of best practices and knowledge sharing within the nonprofit arts and cultural sector. The Tessitura Network is effectively a cooperative enterprise, governed via a Board elected by and from, and representative of, the licensees of the system.

I gave up until about 20 minutes ago. Got in without a problem at that point, and finally got a seat; not exactly where I wanted or the date I wanted (earlier than I would have liked) but happy enough to get what I got given how it was at the open.

I wish they'd show what was available on the chart rather than one seat here, one seat there.

I was in and out. Maybe because I didn't even try until 11 AM due to oversight! I loved seeing that yellow dot, first row center. Sign me up! Seventh heaven at eleven! Where/when for you?

I wanted to be a little further back, twocents (they kept showing me closer tickets!). I'm at G205, which is about 5 rows back, as I recall. Couldn't find anything dead center, but I've been in that row before, and that's a fine seat for anything on stage.

I'll be going early in April, though I'm thinking it'll be pretty well set three weeks into previews. I likely could have gotten the seat of my dreams if I'd be seeing it post-opening, but I'm frugal enough to be happy to save the extra 10 bucks.

I can't complain, because at least I didn't have the struggles of our other compatriots.

Yeah. Amazing how seating preferences can vary. Early July here. Hopefully their voices will hold up and no illnesses befall them. A light suit jacket will suffice, no audience members in front of me. No problems. I have actually conditioned myself to avoid the preview scramble entirely. I cough up the ten and sit pretty. Strike up the band!

Made it all the way to the credit card payment. The site was processing my payment info and then informed me that the order is no longer valid because I was trying to start another purchase during the transaction (or something like that,) which, of course, is not true. Then I got logged out.

I tried to log in again and got a message that my members tickets have been purchased already. No email confirmation, obviously.

And their members hotline is unavailable. So I have no idea if I have the tickets and there's no one I can check with to confirm.

It's very frustrating. Lincoln Center really doesn't give a cr** about their members. But, I am also taking it in perspective. It's a Broadway show - not a life or death situation. I see a lot people here getting so agitated here. It's not worth it. And if you're angry - I suggest calling out LCT on social media. Getting angry on this site is just preaching to the choir. We all know they suck already.

You should get an email. I was in the same situation.

And, honestly, the way I feel is they do "give a crap" about their members by not investing in a bigger system to process the 10:00am sales launches, which would lead to raising member/ticket prices (even more). Things do settle down later.

The Public Theater web site can be worse and now that they have previews only members, regular members can get shut out of previews because there are a lot of members who only will buy those preview tickets. Though lately I've found that tickets become available for previews a week or two before the start of previews.

Agreed. I'm disappointed about the Public because it now shuts down "second-tier" members from smaller, shorter-term shows. I don't think we matter at all.

With LCT, at least the shows run longer. I'm assured of a seat, whether it's exactly where I'd like it to be or the date I'd prefer. As Ann said below, I wish they'd show a live seating chart rather than make one keep checking for another seat, but I got through an hour after it all started and I have a seat at a far better price than what will be available to non-members.

Not suggesting that it can't be improved (the phone line is still not working, I believe, which was an issue as I couldn't get to a real computer until 11, and trying on a mobile phone was a total no-go), but agreeing that compared to the Public, it's still better.

I would hate that system for LCT. I go late in the run, so the competition for a great seat would really be fierce. They'd get shut out and cut into my dates.

Sorry. I disagree. Waiting online for over an hour and being booted by the system multiple times is just not acceptable in 2017. It hasn't been acceptable for 15 years now.

Lincoln Center Theatre is not a struggling, poor organization. Their sponsors have heavy pockets and it gets funding from multiple sources. They pride themselves for being "the pre-eminent theater in the country". I don't freak out about their appalling service towards their members but it doesn't mean it's acceptable.

But thanks for the email tip. Hope to get a confirmation soon.

Last week the secondary market (stub hub) was already selling MFL tickets -- I expect that people are buying Group Tickets and reselling them. LCT does not show a ticket map of sold tickets because they've probably already sold or are holding them for premium seating prices. Anyway I patienly waited (expecting to time out) but got 4 tickets in 400 section on the aisle row L for a Sunday matinee.

When I first got in, the 7 pm times wouldn't show up -- they came up as 8 pm. And when I put in my friend's membership number, there was delay.

A few minutes later, I refreshed and got in. I was given second row orchestra dead center but since I hate watching Ted Sperling conducting and waving his arms willy nilly -- you can't not see him -- I opted for second row side center row D -- only two seats there for some reason!

March 27 preview - 2 orchestra seats - offered front row (C 306 and 307) on center aisle. The chart did not show row A or B.
These are probably great seats, but I had no choice. Would have preferred a few rows back. Didn't want to chance looking for other seats for same perf because it was so slow.
Lots of patience required.

If these are on the side the seats are great. If they are dead center you have to watch Ted Sperling doing his thing which I find distracting.

First row for South Pacific was fantastic. And you're not in dead center which means you don't have the conductor in front of you.

The only problem is if the set designer decides to put a potted plant to obstruct your view like in The King and I which had a long oblong object blocking view on stage right!

It was exceptionally slow this morning, the most trouble that I have had in a while. My best advice is to be patient and not close your browser to start over. Buttons that I thought were unresponsive (especially on the menu with the list of shows) actually were responding but it took a minute or so for it even to register and say that content was loading.

The good news is that I never actually encountered a crash, and I was able to get all the way through to purchase (great) tickets for my first choice date (in May). So be patient and recognize that everyone is encountering the slow downs. And yes, it stinks.

I was shown 5 tickets in a row 2nd row center, including a requested aisle seat, for my first choice date. While it was finalizing the order, I went to another window to do some actual work & when I came back it said my order was invalid because I opened another window. However, when I tried to place the order again, it showed I already had tickets for My Fair Lady & there is an order number listed under my account. I haven't gotten a confirmation email, but I think I do have tickets, right?

Pages were a bit slow to load, but it went okay. For some reason, I was only offered one seat each time, and had to keep clicking "Other seats at this performance." (don't remember that from before).

It kind of doesn't like if you go away from the window - acts like it's going to start over when you return (even to the point of getting the "The transaction on this page is no longer valid ...", but then it goes through.

It's actually still "spinning" but I got my email confirmation.

It looks like that is the case. I don't know if this is a new policy or not. Fortunately, I can exchange the ticket I am getting today (or at least theoretically getting...) if there are no good options for the companion, so that we can still go on the same day.

I've had a blank screen for 5 minutes. Do I close and retry?

Between this and seeing JUNK which truly was Junk, I am DONE with them, so many better shows with easier ticketing than this Horse-S***T. Get your act together LCT!!!!

I didn't have much trouble after 10 minutes so I'm not giving up on LCT just yet. I do hope My Fair Lady is a great show and that the set design is lush and beautiful rather than minimal. Didn't the Richard Chamberlain revival just have a head hanging from the rafters?
