Harbor Stage in Wellfleet MA is a gem. They offer three shows over their summer season, generally including either an original play by company members, or an adapted piece. The Kritik, by Brenda Withers; Northside Hollow by Brenda Withers and Jonathan Fielding spring to mind from past seasons , as does Artistic Director Robert Kropf's adaptation of The Seagull.
This past summer, Kropf's adaptation of Ingmar Bergman's Persona was particularly riveting. And Glengarry Glen Ross very well done.

The Gamm Theater in Pawtucket R.I. also does excellent work. Their artistic director, Tony Estrella, also adapts on occasion, as well as directs, and sometimes takes a role himself.
This theater seems to have a large, loyal subscriber base, so finding tickets on specific days can be a challenge, but worth the effort.
Last season's The Nether was superb.
