| Only in terms of time frame. The fact that she is engaged in a "courtship" with Mickey Deems and reminisces with fans did not occur at all in "End of the Rainbow" It sounds like a much more balanced portrait. | |

| It may be more balanced, but it was of worst times of Garland's life. And that's saying a lot for someone who had many tough times. | |

| To me it sounds like theater can only afford smaller casts than film. I wonder if she will do her own singing or if it will be dubbed. Another question could be....I love Judy and would forgive her anything however.....at that particular time in her life her voice was past its prime. It could be a challenge deciding how to present this. I'm sure they will figure it out. Whatever. I want to see it anyway. |

| I am almost certain, without having any specific knowledge, that Zellweger will lip-sync to Garland's actual recordings. Garland's is such a specific voice that I would pity any performer trying to mimic it, especially an untrained singer like Zellweger. Of course, Zellweger did a great job in the CHICAGO film, but her singing there was reportedly assembled note-by-note in the studio and she has said in interviews that singing (especially live) terrifies her. I can't imagine that she would be tasked with approximating Garland's singing voice in addition to her speaking voice. |

| What do you mean by "assembled note-by-note"? I could possibly believe phrase-by-phrase, but I don't see how she could have come up with these wonderful renditions without phrase continuity. I mean, she really puts these songs over spectacularly. I would rather listen to her renditions of Funny Honey, Roxie, and Nowadays than Verdon's or Reinking's on their OBCRs. | |

| Except that Traci/Tracy Bennett was no match for Garland circa 1961 when I saw her perform at Boston Garden. That was the year "Judy at Carnegie Hall" was recorded. | |
