| COME BACK TO THE FIVE AND DIME, JIMMY DEAN, JIMMY DEAN opens Nov 2 at the Workshop Theatre COME BACK TO THE FIVE AND DIME, JIMMY DEAN, JIMMY DEAN by Ed Gracyzk Nov 2-12, 2017 - Workshop Theatre Mainstage, 312 West 36th Street It's the 20th anniversary of their matinee idol's death. The fulfillment of a two decade pledge brings the Disciples of James Dean back to the five-and-dime in McCarthy Texas, where an apparent stranger joins them, and forces these women to question their identities, face their demons and confront some home truths about themselves, under the hot Texas sun. Ed Gracyzk's play, set in a West Texas town in the mid-1970s, celebrates the power of friendship and acceptance to overcome even the darkest moments in our lives. Never revived on Broadway after a short-lived run, directed by Robert Altman, Regeneration is excited to bring this ground-breaking work back to New York City.
