Disagree.

There are some touching moments between Milioti and the robot, but many - if not all - of the themes are barely scratched, with major reveals feeling weak and romanticized.

Suicide? Eh. Violation of her humanity? Eh. Themes of ecological destruction? Heavy handed. The first twenty minutes is an exercise in how NOT to write exposition.

The play could've dealt with serious issues in a complex manner, but Kazan introduces concepts and themes and never weighs the manner in which they could've heightened the drama of the play.

The NY Times agrees with you. Brantley didn't like it very much.
