With the new cast unlike dolls house. I think if the cast weren't good, sales would drop, but that probably was not the case for dolls house as the Tony winner left.

The two situations are so different as to be incomparable. No one has ever known who is in “The Play that Goes Wrong.” If you’re buying a ticket, it’s because of the farce nature of the play, not the cast. The website literally makes a joke of the fact that nobody famous is in it.

“Doll’s House Part II” had Oscar, Emmy, and Tony winners, the whole original cast was Tony-nominated for the show, and the lead actress (well known from a popular sitcom) won the Tony on her fourth or fifth nomination. And the reviews were largely about those performances. Of course ticket buyers wanted to see that cast.

I can’t think of more dissimilar scenarios.

And I was a little surprised that doll house closed so soon with the new class. I guess if it had one best play, it would have had a better chance of staying open longer.

The little 'Play' that could: May the farce be with them

I find it amusing that this low-brow, knockabout farce has outlasted all four of this season's high-brow, more acclaimed nominees for Best Play.

And it has no stars. None of its actors are TV sitcom stars or past Tony winners. It boasts no Pulitzer Prize-winning playwrights.

Comedies are often overlooked at awards time, so I'm glad that the Oliviers has a special category for them (which this ''Play'' won in 2015).

If the Tonys had a Best Comedy prize, it could've competed with ''Oh, Hello on Broadway'' and Joshua Harmon's ''Significant Other.''

(Lucas Hnath's ''A Doll's House, Part 2'' starts off very funny, but for me, really played itself out as a drama.)

The golden globes put the Martian in comedy and musical category

Orang is the. Ew black has been in both categories for tv.

I fear if there was a comedy category, a play with three laughs would be put in there to,avoid the competition I dramas.

The Emmy situation for comedy isn't even funny ...

I don't consider ''Orange Is the New Black,'' ''Transparent'' or ''Atlanta'' comedies at all. ...

Anyway, if there were a Best Comedy this season, what's eligible? ''The Terms of My Surrender,'' ''Meteor Shower'' and ''The Parisian Woman''?

(The Oliviers nominated ''Farinelli and the King'' for Best New Play, rather than Best New Comedy.)
