I am almost certain, without having any specific knowledge, that Zellweger will lip-sync to Garland's actual recordings.
Garland's is such a specific voice that I would pity any performer trying to mimic it, especially an untrained singer like Zellweger. Of course, Zellweger did a great job in the CHICAGO film, but her singing there was reportedly assembled note-by-note in the studio and she has said in interviews that singing (especially live) terrifies her. I can't imagine that she would be tasked with approximating Garland's singing voice in addition to her speaking voice. |
