| Saw it last Tues. Slick, facile, but rather ho-hum - nothing we haven't seen before. Extended ending to minimum effect. Well acted, nice production - reminded me of the Brit import ENRON. | |

| I liked Enron better. At least it was surprising. | |

| The history of a hostile takeover done with junk bonds and told in a series of short scenes, often cross cut. After a while it began to seem like a high quality episode of LAW AND ORDER, but about finance, not crime. No in depth characterization, no juicy, memorable dialogue. WALL STREET told the same story with much more sizzle, humor and a great villain. In the playbill, the playwright said he went to great lengths not to take sides, tell the audience what to think, etc, etc. This is standard in playwrighting seminars and critical circles today. But if you can't take a stand against the junk bond traders who almost collapsed the economy, who can you can you condemn? JUNK is even handed and unexciting. Stay home and rewatch WALL STREET. | |

| I don't know to what extent the pw extracted this philosophy from his training. But you learn what you learn and hopefully evolve from any particular template. | |
