The Ice Rink is open now. Kids love those two restaurants downstairs with a view of the skaters.

There is a new Junior's Restaurant at 49th & Broadway, which I would characterize as child friendly. They always have lots of families eating there. This one is new, and in addition to the one in Shubert Alley.

You can't get much more child friendly than The American Girl Cafe.

I think Bills Bar and Burger would work:

Don't mind them, it's just their way. Obviously you meant someplace with an ambience that appeals to kids, where they'd see other kids, that had a kids menu, and where you (thoughtfully, imo) won't ruffle couples having expensive romantic meals. Glad you got some leads.

Thank you for understanding what I meant. Some people are sadly just negative.

If you're referring to me, I wasn't trying to be negative...

It was an honest question prompted by your inquiry. Sorry if it came across as negative. Couldn't be farther from true. Hope the children enjoy wherever you take them.

What is a "child friendly" restaurant?

I always wonder what people mean exactly when they ask this. I'm sure it differs, but I've seen children at every type of dining establishment from $400 per person tasting menus to greasy spoon diners. Are there still restaurants that bar children?

Ditto. It depends on the children. (That's written by a 65-year-old man who has no children nor ever had any. So take it with a grain of salt.)

In my experience, it often means having a children's menu and 'family friendly' ambiance. I'm quite sure the OP is not concerning about being barred from service!
