| Low-key is an understatement. I was very disappointed in this and thought it was a missed opportunity to tell a pretty exciting story. No energy at all. | |

| Yes, and it seemed like the actors had been directed not to project. An usher was announcing before the play that the work was "conversational," and we should consider the hearing devices. That's a new announcement to me. I believe I heard most of it, but it was an effort. I don't recall any such effort in the Apple family plays, which were just as conversational in nature. |

| I was given a similar warning about how quiet it was before several of the Gabriels plays. | |

| That's what that announcement was? It came just before the lights went down. I was in the middle of row G, a row from the back, and I couldn't hear the usher. Neither apparently could anyone else. I assumed it was just the turn off your cellphones announcement. And yes, the Apple plays were conversational and all those actors were easily heard. It's too bad, because I really like Nelson's work; I just wish I'd heard more of this one. |

| No, he was saying it as we came in, right by the spot where they were handing the devices out. It had to have been a reaction to complaints after earlier performances. Yes, my experience of the Apple plays was that the actors perfectly handled the balance between naturalism and audibility... |

| That has been a hallmark of Richard Nelson's direction for a while. | |
