The more you read about Shakespeare and Elizabethan/Jacobean Stratford/London, the more you realize Shakespeare and his playwright collaborators wrote the plays attributed to him. See "Will In The World" by Stephen Greenblatt, "Shakespeare" by Michael Wood, and the 40-page-long "Oxford Dictionary of National Biography" entry on Shakespeare by Peter Holland just for a start.

It's just centuries of classism by those who cannot accept that a mere commoner could produce works of genius.
