| I went to "The Red Shoes" last night admittedly because, as a Bernard Herrmann freak, it was a chance to hear some live Herrmann. Actually it wasn't live, the music was all canned. That said, this was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend it. I'm not a dance connoisseur, but I found the choreography and sets to be very effective and beautiful. Especially moving was was last part of the actual "Red Shoes" ballet within a ballet segment, based on music from "Fahrenheit 451", and the last part of act 2, based on "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir" score. |
