| I thought Michael Urie was wonderful as Arnold Beckoff. His is not the same Arnold Beckoff of the actor Harvey Fierstein but it definitely is the Arnold of the playwright. In that time period, I actually knew more drag queens who resembled physically and otherwise Urie than Fierstein. What is more important however is that the emotional core of the character is well intact and I think this is a fine revival of the play well worth seeing to anyone interested in portrayals of LGBT history. |
