| What high school built the sets? It may have worked at LC but in a proscinium it all looked skimpy and underwhelming particularly after the opening scene and the wonderful set piece for that. Laura Michelle Kelly has a gorgeous voice and all but the direction to me was awful. Tedious and no energy. The King was not very good in that his acting technique of being forceful and regal was to scream his lines. Tuptim and Luntha looked as though they didn’t know what todo on stage until it was time to sing. Overall a very dissapointing evening but a gorgeous score non the less. And again, terrible set design and direction. |
