My friends and I joked that the theatre hires mountain goats rather than ushers for the balcony.

Have they repainted the auditorium? I haven't been back to the National since 2006, given its infrequent use and repetitive booking of CATS and MAMMA MIA. Last time there, they still had the hideous orange and turquoise color scheme which brought back memories of Howard Johnson's.

Despite its many shortcomings, it does resemble many older Broadway houses, so I can see why it was often used for out-of-town tryouts back in the day.
