| I agree. This ''King and I'' tour has been getting rave reviews all over America. For what it's worth, I saw it at Lincoln Center and in San Francisco. Except for the boat and a giant idol, which were downsized for the tour, it looks like the same scenic elements. In New York, I remember there were some who thought Michael Yeargan's 2015 Tony-nominated set was pretty spare (as opposed to the more lavish 1996 revival, which won the Tony for scenic design). It's also possible that Yeargan's set pieces appear even skimpier on some of the more gigantic proscenium stages in this country. |
