Rereading now your original post, I see that it had very easily led me to think you were saying that you MISSED the other characters NOT appearing at the end, when, in fact, you were opposed to their returning in this production. Sorry.
I agree with you about this. I only know the original from the photo I've seen of the final moment. I have always wished it would be kept that way. But I have never seen it done so, in my limited experience of seeing BRIGADOON.
I still believe this was one of the most loving--and successful--mountings of a classic musical I have ever seen, including the many Encores revivals I've attended. Clearly it wasn't perfect--what is? |
