| Can't speak for the tour, but the LCT production was a disappointment for me, for the reasons you state. Except for the boat, the sets were a snooze. The outdoor scenes were notable for strings of descending "leaves" that reminded me of shower curtains. And the direction was, like you said, lifeless. I'm a big fan of Kelli O'Hara but found this to be one of her least successful roles. I much preferred the 98 revival, which I saw with Faith Prince. |
