1. I agree about Staunton. I thought her Sally was astonishingly good. I saw things in Sally I've never seen - and they worked.
2. Dee perplexed me. Physically, I thought she was right. But she was going for the throat out of the gate and we never saw her get more and more biting. And that dress!!!
3. I hated that the ghosts just sort of hung around. Like the Director knew they belonged places but didn't get around to directing and choreographing them.
4. Loved everything you said about the camera work. I also hate when it's a big choreographed number and the film director decides to go in for endless close ups and we totally lose the big picture and the steps. And, YES, nobody wants to be in the fourth balcony!
5. Yes...green is green...even when it's blue but lit to make it green. And she never should have worn THAT dress, green OR blue. SOOOO ugly.
