I pretty much agreed with you. Tracie Bennett was the knockout of this production. I also was disappointed in Janie Dee as Phyllis.
Especially by her ''Lucy and Jessie'' number. I don't know why they dressed her in black, instead of something colorful or brighter.
And she was accompanied by only 5-7 dancers, like a club act, instead of a big ''Follies'' production number.
Nothing beats the original: Alexis Smith, a vision in red, backed by a stageful of stellar dancers, choreographed by Michael Bennett. |
