I'm curious. If it's important for the actor playing SpongeBob (Ethan Slater) to sound like him, why isn't he costumed to look like him?
Yes, he's wearing a yellow shirt, but I was half-expecting to see Slater wearing something box-like to actually resemble SpongeBob.
Though I haven't seen it yet, the list of pop/rock composers (and SpongeBob fans) who've written new songs for this show is impressive: Yolanda Adams, Sara Bareilles, Jonathan Coulton, Lady Antebellum, Cyndi Lauper, John Legend, Panic! at the Disco, They Might Be Giants, Steven Tyler, etc.
Plus, Tony & Pulitzer winner Tom Kitt is all over this show: writing additional music and orchestrating and arranging the score. |
