Don't think BB's review of "Jamie" reads as especially positive (there's a slight sarcasm implicit throughout) -- sounds more as if he responded to the show through gritted teeth, as did many of us. It's a mindblowingly derivative and simplistic piece, however big its heart --- and it even has a godawful Follies-esque number in act two for Jamie's mother, seen looking back on her younger self.
