As for booth singers, that IS the show, not the same thing at all.
Not if the audience isn't aware that the show is done that way. The illusion is that the people onstage are providing all the singing, yes? Therefore, adding more voices offstage, without disclosing that it's happening, is a deception of sorts - even if it is done for good reason.
You're comparing what is seen on an out-of-context promo performance to what actually happens in the show at that point. I'm comparing what is seen by an audience in a theatre as opposed to what they don't know is also happening behind the scenes to add to the onstage experience. In both cases, the viewers are unaware that they're NOT seeing what they think they are. Different examples but the same kind of result. |
