I found the screenplay to mix situations up, change characters altogether and as far as the "sign from Ephraim." I never heard her say she wanted to redo the room in blue prior in the movie, or maybe I missed that? But when Horace says that's what he's doing and then she thanks her late husband for the sign, to me the moment meant nothing. I enjoyed the book to the play, it was clearer than the screenplay.

As far as shows that leave you singing and dancing, I think what I meant to say was that in the end it made me feel good and I admired what I just saw. Not all shows that have made me feel this way were of such a light subject, such as: Sunset Blvd w/ Betty Buckley, Grey Gardens, Next To Normal, Sweeney Todd w/ Lupone and Cerveris, American Idiot and Hedwig, all of which I loved and would see again in a heartbeat. I enjoyed the Color Purple mainly for the lead girl, her name escapes me but I didn't love it and other shows with dark themes I didn't like at all. Surprisingly, Follies and Pippin were both disappointing downers to me.
