I only have listened to the original cast recording with Barbara Cook prior to seeing this PBS presentation so I don't have any other production to compare it to. I found the show so cute and enjoyable, an original chamber musical that was refreshing in it's intimacy of discovering the characters. I love the score. The staging was efficient but I'd of preferred a more naturalistic approach to some of the musical numbers and the comedy. The company was attractive and very talented. Nonetheless, I found Benanti perhaps miscast. Though she was by no means bad, her approach and delivery was rather brittle at times.

Nonetheless, the show is a clever gift all wrapped in beautiful paper offered up to the audience with a smile and excellent customer service. By the way, I heard the concert version from 2011 w/ Kelli O'Hara and Krakowski superior to this. Any thoughts on that?
