Good that Angela didn't have that revival of "Chalk Garden" currently running on Broadway or Cynthia Erivo (whose tweets about this current Angela issue have been picked up by news media) and others might have rounded up the on-line troops to try to shut her show down like some other recent show -- what was it called? Took place in Russia. Had some sort of tree involved.

I'm not saying that I agree with Ms. Lansbury, and as a guy, I'm not going to weigh in on that specifically -- it's the vitriolic reaction to someone who's 92, who lived through the WWII era where women used to be routinely whistled at (or worse), and who has through her incredible artistry been able to process and communicate in very distinct ways different women -- everything from the sweet young Sybil Vane in "Dorian Gray", saucy, flirtatious Nancy in "Gaslight", truly villainous Mother in "Manchurian Candidate", mass murderer co-conspirator Mrs. Lovett in "Sweeney Todd" to madcap wonderful dream Auntie Mame. Ms. Lansbury has some life perspective, and while it might be questioned, I'm rather saddened by some of the tone of the response to her latest interview. It's also interesting that it took all day for this subject to come up here; it's been in the news all day.
