I'd never noticed before now that there are (at least) two versions of the Hirschfeld marionette drawing. The original (I'm guessing) used in 1956 was very specifically Rex Harrison and Julie Andrews, whereas that later one in 1976 (and even, I suspect, the original Broadway version once Edward Mulhare and Sally Ann Howes had taken over) was a more generic Higgins and Eliza.

I have to say that I was introduced to Ian Richardson and Christine Andreas through that Hirschfeld drawing and I think the shadow of it was always present when I'd see them in other things.
