| I think "More I Cannot Wish You' has a pretty melody, but the actor who sings it on the OCR has a rather worn and creaky voice that makes me on many occasions skip its track. Apparently he had been a popular vaudeville performer and held in some high regard back then. In modern performance, yeah, even when well sung, it slows things down and is downright saccharine. I think it's better if the actor simply says a rewritten line about "more I cannot wish you" and end the scene. |
