James Levine of Met Opera's sexual allegations have at last hit major paper

Years ago in the 1980s Liz Smith told the story of the nameless head of a NY big cultural institution who had been arrested for inappropriate sexual contact with minors and that the company had been tired of bailing him out. It has been known for years by many in the opera world, but hushed up because of his talent and power. I've even heard patrons outside the theatre itself talking to themselves about this at times. Well, it took all the open sesame scandals now to finally make this public, so I don't predict a farewell gala for Levine at the Met now that it's been cracked open.
