Oklahoma was actually what I was heading for above when I got tangled up with Carousel.
As for it being appropriate, there is nothing in there that says England to me, or London, or class issues. Yes, Eliza, Higgins, and whoever are there, but there's no reason to look at them particularly.
I shared it with some theatre friends/family last night, first covering the name of the show. No one had any guesses as to what it would be for. Then, when I uncovered it, they all said one version or other of, "No!"
And I was the only one who actually found it attractive in and of itself. |
