No Life is there to establish the world of society and art that George exists in at the time - and it sets up two important characters and their outlook, and is funny. I think it's great.
Parlour Songs creates comedy with heightened tension and anticipation. It wrings the moment out making you kind of squirm but is also funny. I think it's kind of brilliant actually.
I'll give you Steam Heat, Hernando's Hideaway I think is less pointless because at least it sets of up set piece and scene where things happen in the plot. |
