| Apologies to Sondheim fans, but three from Follies (and I love Follies...my favorite Sondheim): Ah, Paree!, Rain on the Roof, and One Last Kiss. For me, these have always stopped the show dead in its tracks and served no purpose toward the story. Some would argue that, if true, Broadway Baby should be on the list as well, but that number says something about all the characters' drives and ambitions in the Weisman shows and could easily be interpolated into a scene, just as I'm Still Here is.. |
