| Ok, finally got to weigh in on this one. More I Cannot Wish You is a great song, not that you said it wasn't, just unnecessary. When I regularly play it toward the end of a cabaret show I get all kinds of questions about it, where did it come from, who wrote it, yada yada. If you want to make a case for its necessity, it is that it gives us a rare quiet moment in a show that plays at high speed throughout, especially the 2nd act. Truthfully though, I find that it doesn't score as strongly as I wish because before and after it are better songs, so maybe you are right, it might be unnecessary. |
