| Most Broadway shows get Broadway cast recordings. However, others (especially if they are commercially unsuccessful) are not recorded during their original run but eventually get studio cast recordings, e.g. the 1967 Sherry! and Wildhorn's Dracula. Of course, many classic Broadway shows have gotten both. I'm not sure why you think cast recording is a meaningless term. I would think that it's self-explanatory. |
