FREE: “AN URBAN HOLIDAY PARTY” CELEBRATES A NYC
PLAYWRIGHT’S BANNER YEAR
WHAT: Join award-winning playwright Ken Urban at this free event to celebrate
the recent publication of his Christmas-themed play, “Nibbler” (produced
in New York this year by the Amoralists and Rattlestick Playwrights
Theater). Members of the original cast will read scenes from “Nibbler”
and two of Urban’s other acclaimed works.
After the readings, Robert Lewis Vaughn of Dramatists Play Service
moderates an audience chat with Urban and cast members. A reception
with refreshments – including nibbles – will follow. Gift-sets of Urban’s
plays will be offered for sale, and attendees will receive a specially
designed, limited-edition tote bag to hold their purchases.

DETAILS: In addition to the world premiere production and publication of his play
“Nibbler,” New York City playwright Ken Urban had a second world
premiere, “A Guide for the Homesick,” at Boston’s Huntington Theatre
Company, helmed by Colman Domingo (“Fear the Walking Dead”). A
third world premiere, “The Remains,” will be produced in May 2018 at
the Studio Theater in Washington DC. Also this year, Urban was named
head of playwriting at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and
sold a television pilot to the American arm of the UK’s ITV network. |
