| Try to separate the behavior from the reporting of it. The former was there all along, whether we were suppressing knowledge of it or not. The latter is a new (at least in extent and amplitude) and, I would suggest, hopeful phenomenon. Ugly/awful/sad, yes, but it is the frame on which we can prove ourselves better human beings, and in that we can aspire to something uplifting. |
