I remember when seeing the production back in the 1990's that I was very surprised to hear "Four Jews" down a half step. But that was done for the new (now standard) arrangement, which added the "slavery" section not in the original March Of The Falsettos version. The reason for the key change was so that there could then be a half-step modulation up near the end of the song, bringing it back to the "original key."
Also, "Marvin Hits Trina" was taken down a whole step (from the original March score) for that production, where it has stayed since. (The score for the 90's version actually says "transp. down 1 step 4/1/92")
So...indeed changes have been made over time. ;-) |
